Sarah's Key, by Tatiana De Rosnay, is about a 10 year old girl named Sarah. She lived in Paris in 1942, during WWII. She and her family were arrested in the Vel' d'Hiv' roundup, where French police sent all the Jews in Paris to concentration camps. Before she was arrested she hid her brother in thier secret hiding place, thinking she would be back in a couple hours. She never came back. In present day Paris, an American journalist is asked to write a article about the Vel' d'Hiv' roundup. On her journey to discover more about the event she learns about Sarah and is compelled to retrace the girl's steps. Sarah's Key is a heartbreaking and informative book with a bittersweet ending.

Mississippi Trial, 1955 is a book about the murder and trial of Emmit Till. Itas not for the faint of heart because the descriptions of his death can at times get graphic but not too bad. I thought it was good. I liked how the author combined the true story of Emmit Till with the fictional story of other characters.
I would reccommend it to any history lovers.
