Flight of the Eagles by Gilbert L. Morris

This was a great book. The world undergoes a nuclear war and kills off almost everything on the Earth. There are the Seven Sleepers, Josh, Sarah, Dave, Abbey, Wash, Reb, and Jake that survived the war due to only rectangular boxes filled with sleeping gas. About 50 years later, the first sleeper has to find all the other six sleepers. All he has to locate them is a map, songs, and a journal his mother kept for him. On his quest, he finds that looks aren't important and that sometimes you have to just believe.

Double Helix by Nancy Werlin

I really enjoyed this book. It is a mystery about a "mad scientist" who likes to play with genes of unborn human eggs. The main character, Eli, accepts a job a Wyatt Transgenics. What he doesn't know is that his mother, who has Huntington's Disease, used the help of Dr. Wyatt to create a child who is negative for HD, which is Eli himself. When Eli accepts this job, all he knows is that his father is very angry at Dr. Wyatt and wants Eli to quit the job before his first day. This book sparks thoughts about how the scientific community might encourage people to choose the genetic makeup of their children.

Shades of Simon Gray by: Joyce McDonald

I enjoyed this book very much. It's about a teenager, Simon, who crashed his car into a tree that a murderer was hanged on over 200 years ago. He slips into a coma, where he goes different places in his town of Bellehaven. He even talks to Jessup, the man that was hanged on the tree for murder. All the while he is in the coma, his schoolboard and the police are investigating a crime that was done within the school's computers. Simon and his friends hacked into the system to change their grades and get test answers. In the end, the English teacher gets blamed for giving half the football team his password, and the police think it was the footballers who obtained the test answers.

Miss Peregrines Home for Peculiar Children was a really good mystery book. Its about a teenager named Jacob trying to find out about his grandfather's past during WWII. There are really cool vintage photos that go alone with the story. I would definitively recommend this book!

Chasing Vermeer by Blue Baliett is a really good book. It is about a boy named Calder and a girl named Petra who, when a famous painting is stolen,go on an adventure together. My favorite part is when they find the painting. I also liked the series of twelves that they come across. For example, they were both going to be 12 on December 12. I recommend Chasing Vermeer.
