House of Stairs by William Sleator

I really enjoyed this book. It was about 5 16 year old orphans who got chosen to be the objects of a scientific experiment. But, they didn't know that at the time. Each of them were blindfolded and taken to a room full of stairs, where there is a machine that has a blinking light and speaks. This machine gives them food whenever the 5 kids do what it wants them to.

Catching Fire by suzzanne collins is a fabulous sequel to her first book the hunger games. Freshly out of the arena of the seventy-fourth games, and finishing the victory tour katniss finds her new life of fame and fortune is going well peeta is holding her at an icy distance, Gale has turned his shoulder on her completly. To make it worse President snow wants revenge for what she did in the final moments in the arena because there has been talk of rebellion. Every 25 years of the games a special event happens called the quarter quell instead of the normal games. For the first quell the districts had to choose the tributes themselves, the second quell each district had 4 tributes chosen instead of 2 now the thrid quell is the tributes shall be chosen from the pool of victors. This means, Katniss is going back into the arena.

The hunger games is by far the best book i have ever read. It was about a 16 year old girl who volnteers for her sister to go in the Hunger games, a fight to the death against her will. It is owned by the Capital, the empire of control. It parted everyone into 12 district and the 13th was destroyed after reblion. Every district has to pick one girl and one boy for the hunger games. The only way to way to win is to be the last one alive, which will bring you money and food to your district. As Katniss fights to survive, a piece of her past comes up to face her, leaving her to fight her past, present, and future.

I read Catching Fire: the 2nd book to the hunger games series. It was alright. Some of it went over my head, except for the quarter quell when victors went back in the arena. That was when i wanted to keep reading it. If you are going to read this book i would recommend reading the first book before it.
